03 Why join TGL

Gaming is better with people who show up.

The Gulag Lounge started with a simple idea: games are better when you play them with people you know. Not a lobby full of strangers, but regulars who remember your name, save you a seat in the squad and turn up for the next operation.

That is what membership is for. Recruit gets you through the door. The Lounge and Lounge Elite are how members will help keep the servers running, the events coming and Aether moving, and get a little more back each month for it.

  • Regulars, not randomsA community you come back to, across the games you play.
  • Organised playOperations, community nights and events run with care.
  • Fair moderationThe same rules for everyone, members included.
  • Built togetherMembers help shape what TGL and Aether become.

04 The TGL ecosystem

One TGL. Everything connected.

The plan is one TGL account that carries your membership across the community, our servers and Aether. Today the community runs on Discord and our servers; shared accounts are not live yet.

05 The members’ calendar

Value that continues long after month one.

Membership is designed around a steady rhythm, not a welcome gift. Everything below is planned for launch and will be confirmed before anyone is asked to pay.

  1. Every month

Members’ night and a say in what is next

A members’ game night, an advisory poll and an active members’ lounge on Discord.

    Planned
  2. Every season

Fresh extras and time with the team

New wallpapers and profile art, plus an Elite members’ Q&A with the people building TGL.

    Planned
  3. As Aether grows

    Premium features as they ship

Elite members receive eligible Aether premium features as each is released, and invitations to testing rounds.

    Planned
  4. The longer you stay

    Recognition that builds

Tenure milestones and Passport recognition that reflect the time you have been part of TGL.

    Planned

06 Trust and transparency

Fair to every member, paying or not.

These principles shape every membership decision. Supporting TGL should feel good, never like a toll gate.

  • No pay-to-win

Membership never buys a gameplay advantage on TGL servers or in TGL competitions.

  • Moderation stays independent

Paying has no influence on moderation, bans, staff roles or staff decisions.

  • No paid entries

Members get no automatic or extra entries into competitions or giveaways.

  • A real free tier

Recruit is designed to keep the community, public events and our servers open to everyone.

  • Honest labels

Every benefit says whether it is available now or planned. No countdowns, no false scarcity.

  • No data taken here

This page sets no account, collects no payment details and asks for no personal information.

07 Questions

Before you pull up a seat.

Can I join today?

Yes. TGL Recruit is free and open now: join the TGL Discord and you are part of the community, with access to public events, news and our game servers under their rules.

When can I buy The Lounge or Lounge Elite?

Not yet. Paid memberships are proposals and no launch date has been set. Prices and benefits may change before launch, and nothing can be purchased on this website today.

Do I need to pay separately for Aether?

No. Basic Aether access is planned to be free for everyone once Aether is publicly available. Lounge Elite is planned to include eligible Aether premium features as each one is released, so Elite members will not be asked to pay for them twice. A standalone Aether Premium option is not offered today.

Will membership give me an advantage in games?

No. Membership never buys gameplay advantages on TGL servers or in TGL competitions, and it has no influence over moderation or staff decisions.

Do members get extra competition entries?

No. Competitions and giveaways never require a paid membership, and members receive no automatic or additional entries.

How will billing and cancelling work?

The plan is simple monthly billing, with the option to move up, move down or cancel from your Member Command Centre. Full terms, final prices and any applicable taxes will be published before launch.

What happens to my data?

This page collects nothing: no account, payment details or personal information. Account and payment handling will be documented in a privacy notice before memberships launch.

Can I support TGL without a membership?

Supporting TGL is always optional. The Support TGL page previews voluntary contributions; payments are not enabled there either.

Where can I ask something else?
